Becoming More Like Jesus
You are a new person. The old is gone away even if you do not feel like it.
No one is so bad or done so much wrong that they cannot come to Jesus
John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become Children of God
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
1 John 5:12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!
2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Ephesians: 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
God has a purpose and plan for your life weather you know it now or not. Jeremiah 29:11 says ” For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
If you know Jesus , then your life is meant to make an impact in this world. Your life is no longer your own, you were bought at a price and God has amazing plans for you in his kingdom.
Here is the Awesome TRUTH, we have been given everything that we need to be fulfilled in Christ and to live out the plans God has for us.
It is not about getting more perfect it is about growing in him and building our relationship with Him.
Your back story is not so bad or messed up that you cannot be the person God is calling you to become. I know that may sound strange in our society that teaches that you have to do all of this “stuff” to be Holy in Christ. But he died to make you reconciled and you have been pre-positioned for greatness.
Quoting from the Freedom in Christ Series they have a excellent TRUTH: Jesus made it a point to tell us that God does not love you because of the good things you do. Or stop loving you when you do terrible things. In fact its not about what you do at all. He loves you for who you are!
Doesn’t that make you see Jesus in a new light? Throw away the thinking of the World that you have to be good enough or strong enough to follow a long list of rules and regulations. All he wants is for you to recognize the gifts he has given you and to walk into them to become more like him.
