The book of John in the bible gives us many truths about who Jesus is. But to make it plain to you we will give you the shorter version.
Jesus was a man, but he was also the Son of God. He came to earth to bring us back home.
In the beginning ADAM and Eve hung out, chilling in the garden with God. Living their best life. They had one rule, and they could not obey that rule. They decided they did not have to obey God and could do what they thought was best. So, they broke the rule and that was a Sin in God’s eyes.
Because of SIN done by Adam and Eve we were Spiritually separated from God. Humankind became dead to the spiritual reality. We were left with our fleshly Humanity which is evil by nature. Romans 1-2.
Cast away out of Eden to live our lives in the world. Separated spiritually from God. Destined to live in the world that the enemy controls. Let me paint you a picture you may relate to a little better.
You were living at home chilling, growing up, living under the love of your parents, not a worry in the world. But they had rules. As long as you obeyed those rules all was well in your life. And you were okay with those rules for a long time. But then you started becoming a teenager and decided you did not want to abide by those rules because you knew better, or thought you were grown, or thought your parents did not understand you. Whatever the reason you broke the rules. Then you were caught, and you now had to pay the consequences for your actions. You get thrown out the house to be grown and live the life you wanted under your own decisions.
It is the same with us, we were put out the house of God for our desire to be grown and do it our way.
But just like our parents God loved us and worried about us and wanted us back home. But we were still full of the sin of disobedience, and repentance had to be paid before he could let us just come back home.
In his wisdom he knew that we could not repent on our own, he knew our pride and habits and decisions and poor thinking would not allow us to make the right decisions to come back home and say we were sorry for our actions.
So, he decided in his Love for us that HE would make it right. He would sacrifice himself for our mistakes, our sins, our inability to be what he created us to be. He would come to earth, take on our sins by dying on the cross and bring us back home.
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are the trinity and work this miracle of salvation together to give us eternal life with them. Jesus died for our sins to save us from death and separation. He also taught us through the disciples and the bible who he is and what the depth of his Love is for us. Not only did he die for our sins to bring us back into right standing with God he rose on the third day so that we could be seated on the right hand of the throne and given the power of the Holy Spirt NOW in the age of God with Us. To have power and peace to live our life’s out in this fallen world. He rose in victory and we are his children who have risen in victory with him. But the problem is we do not know it nor do we act like it. We walk in a defeated mind set that does not consider who we are. We act more like the enemy’s children than the children of God.
So the question was WHO is Jesus? He is our savior, our redeemer, our Lord, and our life.
Not because we are so perfect and do things to deserve to be saved, but because he Loves us so much that he wanted us to come Home, come back to be in the family, come back to the love of the father, come back to the joy of belonging to our Father.
Of course, there is so much more of who Jesus is and what he did. But you must continue the journey of truth to find out more. I encourage you to read the book of John. Find out who Jesus is. Continue to check on our site we will talk more about Him.
